air conditioner unit

I need the procedure to move an air conditioner unit on the outside of the house. (ie) remove gas , disconnec
outside unit is to be moved about 20′ from one edge of house to the other edge of house.
Need to collect gas, disconnect lines, move unit, reconnect lines, reactivate gas. How do I collect the gas? How do I bend the lines without kinking them?
Well, first of all you should have an experienced tech do that. If you do not have a set of gauges. an torch, and a vacuum pump then call a service tech. If you do have all these things, attach gauges to the outdoor unit. Open both valve caps, close the high side first[ the smaller one] then turn unit on and it will pump freon into the system and hold it. When your gauge reads zero close off suction valve and turn off unit. Cut lines with tubing cutters. You will need new copper fittings, insulation, sil-floss 15%,and insulation glue. After soldering lines you should leak test with nitrogen. If no leaks hook up vacuum pump to remove moisture. Then you will need to add freon. I suggest you hire this out.
