heating and air conditioning contractor

Is a “foot in the door” job a good idea?
I’m graduating with my BS in Mechanical Engineering in December, and was hoping to get a job as a consultant or work for a contractor doing Heating and Air Conditioning (HVAC) design build work in the Seattle area.
However, the HVAC industry tends to be very fraternal, and I don’t live anywhere near Seattle (I live in Hawaii). I don’t think I’ll be getting any callbacks on the resumes I sent out (had one interview and was rejected already). I found a company that is sort of in my field, but is not engineering work as much as I’d like. They are a manufacturer’s rep, and I already work for one, so I’d be more likely to get the job.
Moving up there would be a financial endevor (I have the money, but it’s still costly to move) and I’m just worried that I might not be able to find the kind of work I want. Would this place be a good “foot in the door” job in your opinion? Would it be a good idea to take it if I got it?
I dont know but i hope so!
I ve just taken one, im a teacher but i ve taken a nursery job which will hopefully give me the experience to stand out at a teaching interview where there 20 candidates!
Finger crossed for you!
