Are there any safety regulations for climate control in automotive repair shops?
Im in the state of Arkansas and need to find out if there are any laws or safety regulations pretaining to air conditioning and heat or employees in automotive repair shops/ dealerships.
I’m now retired (1993) after 42 years from large dealerships and 2 shops that I had owned or had investments in the MD and DC area. There was no requirement at that time. Winter heat was no problem. Now when a new shop is built, or an addition is added, A/C if automatically included for all working areas. When management took turns working in hot shops along with the shop employees, it didn’t take long to realize that we could have more production with “cool” personnel and less heated tempers at the end of the day.
