reem air conditioner
Tuesday, January 26th, 2010Air Conditioner Leak?
I had an A/C guy install a complete new unit exactly 3 years ago & it is a Reem. This is in my home. I can not get him to ask my calls on a simple service call. He has also installed a couple at rental property of mine & will still not anser a simple service vall on them. Is there anything you can do about it or can I turn him in to the State Board Of License’s?
Unless you have a contract that states so, your installer is not bound in any way to supply continued service after your install… with the exception of any warranty, explicit or implied, connected to your install.
So, after he installed your systems, and you paid him, the only obligation he had to you was to reasonably back his side of the contract… basically his workmanship.
Unless you have a clear and concise problem with his workmanship, then he has no obligation to you… particularly three years later.
If he does have an obligation that he isn’t complying with, then you have grounds to have another contractor complete the work and compel him for reimbursement through a court like small claims.
He simply doesn’t want your business… and you can’t make him take it.
Rheem may still have an obligation to you. Call them.
Regards.

On edit:
Don’t take the fact that he won’t do service as a personal thing.
Many small HVAC contractors will specialize in either install or service. They simply set up thier resources to allow them to be competitive in that corner of the market.
