trane air conditioning

trane air conditioning
Air conditioning specialist PLEASE help me!!!?

OK fore-warning this is complicated

-trane central air and heat unit
-live in a mobile home with exposed ducts
-electronic thermostat

we had really BAD lightning storms yesterday and i think it some how fried the thermostat

now when you take the thermostat out my heat kicks on for no reason

the fan will not turn off so its constantly blowing the outside air in along with either heat or air so yeah its a solid 95F in my house right now

so my question i WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED? and HOW CAN I FIX IT?

If I read correctly, when you remove the thermostat from it’s base, the fan/ heat kick s on ? If so, then the power surge backed up into the electronic panel on the furnace.
If you remove the thermostat from the circuit and this problem is present, it can only be as stated above, and a new panel is in order.
Just shut the system down by a switch or pull the breaker or fuse, and call a service man, unless you are familiar with electronic panels and their workings.
I guess the old saying that “nothing stops a trane” was just proved wrong.
Although rare, I have seen this happen before, with any make or brand, and the lightning does not need a direct hit, just close enough to present a power surge.
If I am correct in my diagnosis, just make sure to install a surge protector in the line along with repairs, a preventative measure.
